About Us

We are a small family farm located in DeKalb Texas.  We began as two sisters growing up raising and showing Quarter horses.  In 1997 we started our venture into the miniature horse world.  Since then we have shown at the local and national level every year, achieving national champion and reserve national championships, as well as many national top tens.   Double Trouble farm has grown from two sisters to two sisters, a son, (Jacob) and the Britnell family.  Cliff, Sarah, Adam and Dillon.  We have also been raising and showing Shetland ponies for the past six years.  We  try to breed the best quality we can, and the type of miniature/pony that will excel in the show arena in both halter and performance.  We always offer a few for sale for the show ring, breeding farm, and the family pet.   We strive to assist in any way we can after the sale to ensure safety as well as a good experience.

Dillon Britnell showing to a Reserve National Champion in 7 and under Western Country Pleasure at his first Nationals at age 5.  He showed Villas Love Toy 4U, owned by Sherry Martin, Quitman AR.  Toy was originally trained to drive as a 3 yr. old by my sister and I.  He was sold and eventually went to Sherry who we didn't even know, and became a multi champion in driving for her.  Later we would meet at a show, become friends, and Dillon would show him in 3 events at Nationals.  Sherry has trained Toy to jump, and what an awesome jumper he has become, and has now spoiled Dillon into thinking that all horses should jump just as easy as Toy!
